Donna Simone Johnson

Actress, Choreographer, Liberator

Donna Simone Johnson is a LA Native, actress, choreographer and liberator. Deeply rooted in arts leadership and activism, she is the Co-Founder of Hardcorps (an arts organization providing training to under-resourced artists) and leads various community organizing activations, including work with the LA Poverty Department, Watts Village Theater Company, We Charge Genocide, Calling Up Justice and Equity and Diversity Initiatives for Center Theater Group. An LA Native, she attended New York University, where she earned her MA in Dance Education and CalArts, where she received her MFA in Acting. Since then, she has enjoyed a vibrant career working in commercials, voiceover, on screen and international stages. She is a series regular on Y’all Family, premiering this fall and a Company Member in Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s 2020 Season, playing Somerset in the Henry VI adaptation, Bring Down The House, (Parts 1 & 2).

TV/Film credits include: The Inspectors, Agent X, and Dreamland and NETFLIX’s animated Super Drags (recurring). She won the NAACP Award for Best Lead Actress for her work in Broken Fences at The Road Theatre and has worked regionally at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Pantages, Portland Center Stage, Virginia Stage, Playwrights Arena, African American Shakespeare, Co. The Broad, The Royal George and Off-Broadway’s Union Square NYC to name a few. International credits and tours include CITIZENSHIP in Kampala, Uganda, Echoes of a Thousand Hills (alongside Mashrika and Center for New Performance, Kigali, Rwanda), and with the award-winning CLOUD 9 (RITu, Liege, Belgium). At a time where the power of the collective is being alchemized into tangible change and liberation, Donna is more energized than ever to continue the work with Dan Froot and Co towards empathy, change and harnessing the power of the collective.

Born and raised in sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL. Currently waiting to return to the Broadway hit show, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, where he plays Smokey Robinson and Damon Harris. Other credits include: Dez in Skeleton Crew (Marin Theatre/Theatreworks), Benny and U/S Roger in Rent (20th Anniversary Tour), Tap Brother 2 in After Midnight (Inaugural Cast Norwegian Escape). Received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State.

Frank has lived in NY since arriving from rural Illinois to start drama school at Juilliard where he received the Raul Julia prize for excellence.

Harts made his 2004 Broadway debut in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin In The Sun” as George Murchison opposite Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad.

Frank has lent his authentic NY energy to Showtime’s “Billions,” CBS’s “Bull,” and received critical acclaim for his role as Eddie the Doorman on Netflix’s “Master of None.” He’s currently a series regular on the new hit show “Prodigal Son” for Fox Television.

His midwestern charm won him recurring roles on HBO’s “The Leftovers,” and Hulu’s “The Path.”

Select film credits include Jim Jarmusch’s “Paterson” opposite Adam Driver, and Jason Bateman’s “The Family Fang” opposite Nicole Kidman. He resides in Yonkers with his wife Shelley and son Hendrix.

ROY WOOD JR. joined The Best F#@ing News Team in 2015 as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. In 2017, he was named the new host of Comedy Central’s storytelling series, This is Not Happening. His first Comedy Central one-hour stand-up special, Father Figure, debuted in 2017, followed by his second Comedy Central one-hour stand-up special, Roy Wood Jr.: No One Loves You, which aired in 2019. Both are the highest rated original specials on the network in that same time. Wood can also be seen in a recurring role on the current seasons of the new Netflix comedy ‘Space Force’, as well as ‘Better Call Saul’ & ‘The Last O.G.’

In development with Comedy Central, Roy is currently in production on his first sitcom, Jefferson County: Probation. As Executive Producer, he is also working with HBO Max on a new project, 1% Happy, starring Dani Fernandez.
